The seafront area in Ballycastle will buzz again this year with street entertainment on Friday nights over the summer months. The Brighter Nights initiative starts on Friday 4 July with a new act, Oisin Charms who visits from Dublin. His escapology and
acrobatics have been a hit at the Edinburgh Fringe and in festivals around Ireland.
The Arts Officer for Moyle District Council, Elaine Gaston, said:‘The highlights this year also include Miss Shell the amazing circus mermaid and a special full-length outdoor theatre performance of Alice Through the Looking Glass by Quantum Theatre who play in all weathers throughout Ireland and the UK.
“Audience are invited to arrive early for Alice, bring their own rugs or low-backed chairs and a picnic!’
Brighter Nights is managed and promoted by the Arts Programme of Moyle District Council and funded by Moyle Policing and Community Safety Partnership. Events happen in Ballycastle every week from Friday 4 July until Friday 22 August.
Events start around 7.45 pm, are free of charge, suitable for all ages and all children should be accompanied by an adult.
