Breathe Easy asbestos warning

This is not fruit and veg advice. But the key message of a British Lung foundation nationwide campaign to help people better understand the risks of asbestos in the home.

Breathe Easy Causeway members manned an information stand at B & Q, Coleraine, last week as their contribution to the BLF awareness drive.

Mrs Nessie Blair, BLF Northern Ireland representative, advised the public on what they should know about asbestos before they start their next DIY jobs at home.

Most people were generally aware of what asbestos was, where it could be found in the home, and what action to take.

However, surprisingly many were unaware that it was used in building work throughout the UK until the 1990s.
