Beattie hopes report will provide impetus to find killers

Ulster Unionist Party Justice spokesperson Doug Beattie MC said, “It is unacceptable that, after 22 years, nobody has been held to account for this heinous and unnecessary crime that did nothing to advance progress toward peace by one single step.

“Our focus must remain with the families and vicitms who are largely forgotten as the largest political parties fail yet again to address their needs with the Fresh Start Agreement.

“It is important to study this report by the Ombudsman in full and for the Policing Board, PSNI and justice bodies to take steps to ensure its findings are addressed.”

“I hope that this will provide a fresh impetus from the PSNI to find those responsible for what happened in the Heights Bar, Loughinisland in 1994,” Mr Beattie said.
