Ballycastle auction sale

McAfee Auctions first sale after the Summer Recess takes place next Friday in their Ballycastle Sale Room, and over 750 lots go under the hammer in a sale that promises to have something for everyone – from a Grand Piano to a Gents Pocket Watch, or a Ladies Dress Ring from a Large Collection of Jewellery.

The contents of several houses, the Sale includes a Large Selection of Furniture, Paintings, Clocks, Silver, Collectables, and a Large Selection of Jewellery including Gold Bracelets, 9ct and 18ct Gold Diamond and Sapphire Rings.

The Main Piece of Furniture in the sale is a Very Fine Grand Piano, but there is also a Good Selection of Mahogany and Oak Sideboards and Dressers, Display Cabinets,a Good Mahogany and Other Display Cabinets, a Mahogany Dumb Waiter, Mahogany and Other Chests, Side and Occasional Tables, Dining, Occasional and Other Chairs, and Other Occasional Pieces of Furniture including a Bureau Bookcase, Open Bookcases, etc.

A Selection of Bedroom Furniture includes a Good Walnut Bedroom Suite, Pairs of Bedside Cabinets, a Mahogany Dressing Mirror on Stand, etc.

Silver includes a Fine Silver Decorated Irish Tazza, a Nice Sugar Shaker, Condiments, Sauce Boat, Cased Cutlery etc. and Other Collectables including a Large Collection of Doulton and Other Figurines, Pieces of Royal Worcester, Beswick, Ruby, Crystal, Brass, Copper, etc.

Pictures include three Lots by the well known Coleraine Artist Hugh Thompson, best known for designing the Quality Street Box, and there are Oils and Water Colours by Danny Todd, Liam Reilly, Sam McLarnon, J. W. Carey, J.P. Rooney, J.J. O’Neill, etc.

Among the more unusual lots is a Good Horse Cart, a Collection of Toy Soldiers, Old Travelling Trunks, an Oak Longcase Clock, Collection of Walking Canes, a Collectors Four Horse Set and Dray, a Musicians Metronome, A Cased Polyphon.

Of course there is also a Good Selection of General Furniture including a Leather and Another Three Piece Suite, Settees, Dining Sets, and General Household Furnishings and Effects.

For the ladies there is a Large Collection of Gold Inset Rings, Bangles, Necklaces, Brooches, Watches, etc. while there are a Selection of Pocket Watches, Wrist Watches and Coins for the men including a Gold Two Shilling Piece.
