AN American visitor has arrived at Conagher Holiday Cottages hoping to find information about his family history.
Bill McKinley can trace his lineage to this area and he believes he shares an ancestral link with his namesake, the 25th President of America. Conagher is the McKinley ancestral home and it was the perfect spot for Bill, and his travelling companion Nancy Hall, to come and enjoy some North Antrim hospitality.
Bill, a retired air force Colonel, spent some time this week at Ballymoney Town Hall studying the genealogy resources available at the Museum. Later in the week, he and Nancy were honoured to accept an invitation to the Mayor's Parlour.
Bill also praised the staff at Ballymoney Library who were very helpful and has promised to tell everyone back home about the friendly welcome he received in Northern Ireland.
