BEEN on holiday abroad? Brought back unused travel money?

Age NI is asking holidaymakers from Ballymoney and Moyle to donate their unwanted foreign currency and help support people in later life.

A recent survey from online travel site Skyscanner* found that 89% of people return home from abroad with over £1.6bn of leftover holiday money. This amounts to an average of £54 per person bringing back various currencies from Cypriot Pounds to Thai Baht.

Linda Parker, Age NI Donor Manager, said, ‘It’s amazing to think that so much unused foreign currency is gathering dust in the back of a drawer in people’s homes. Even more astonishing is that one in three holiday makers forget to take leftover money with them on their next trip!’

She continued, ‘To avoid collecting unwanted foreign cash when you return from a holiday, please donate it to Age NI where we can translate it into vital services that support older people.’

To make a donation of unused money to Age NI, please either drop it into the office or pop it in the post to the following address: Age NI Fundraising Foreign Currency Appeal, FREEPOST RRTU-HSZY-LTHZ, 3 Lower Crescent, Belfast, BT7 1NR.

Or contact Age NI on 028 9024 5729, email or visit for more information.
