A VINTAGE and classic car run is due to take place at the end of this month starting in Portglenone.

The event is the first to be held under the auspices of the Portglenone Community Rescue Service and the Portglenone Community Men’s Shed.

A great deal of effort and planning has been put in by members of both organisations and they stress that all who take part should have an enjoyable day.

The route begins from the Manor in Kilrea where owners of classic and vitage vehicles will meet up before travelling alaong the coast and stopping for lunch. The cavalcade is due to return to the Manor for dinner.

The time for registration is between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. on the day of the run - Saturday, September 29. Breakfast is available between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. and it’s on the road around 10 a.m.

The cost will impress. Early regtistration - up to one week prior to the event - is a mere £22 and late registration will only cost £3 more.

Here’s the good bit. The entry fee includes breakfast and dinner at the Manor as well as a light lunch in Portrush.

For registration forms or more information contact Lucy (CRS) on 07835 119817 or Mike (PCMS) on 0790 2803417.

The organisers are appealing for good support from those who enjoy a day out in their old vehicles.

“Everyone will be contributing to two worthy causes,” he said.
