Local children invited to audition for Music Box

Back for a second year at Theatre at The Mill due to popular demand, this colourful and vibrant show with The Ulster Operatic Company provides the ultimate festive musical experience for families and friends, celebrating all that people love about the festive season including an enchanting candlelit choral procession, renditions of old favourite Christmas classics alongside modern day Christmas songs and of course the adorable children in the roles of ballet dancers and boy trebles.

Peter Corry commented: “The boy treble in The Music Box is in many ways the icing on the cake for the show. We have had a high standard of boy singers each year and look forward to finding this year’s new talent. In addition another crucial ingredient to the show’s success is the girl ballet dancers who offer a fun and cute element to the performance.”

Auditions will be held early October for those aged between 7-12 yrs with boy trebles and girl ballet dancers having some experience or training in these areas. Rehearsals for the show will begin at the end of October with the dancers required to commit two weeknights and Sunday rehearsals. Boy trebles will not be required for the same number of rehearsals.
