All those who sign up will receive a Green Dog Walkers pack which includes branded leads, collars and poo bags.

The scheme also encourages dog owners to act as ambassadors by sharing spare poo bags with people who might need one for their pet when out and about.

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council Alderman Mark Fielding, said: “It’s encouraging to see so many people willing to work in partnership with us to protect our environment and our communities from this hazardous and anti-social behaviour.

“Due to the volume of interest and the ongoing restrictions on our workplaces due to the pandemic, we may not get all the packs out as quickly as we would like. However, I want to reassure anyone who has joined that you will receive yours in the coming weeks.
