Connor Clarke, came a very close runner up with his dramatic shot of the tram track at Runkerry.

Guest speaker for the evening was Shona McCarthy, Director of the Culture Club, the organisation which has been set up to co ordinate Derry City of Culture 2013.

After presenting Keith with the Fairhead Photographic Club Perpetual Shield, Shona gave a very interesting presentation on her career path to date, right up to her current exciting position.

She outlined some of the challenges which lie ahead, but given the enthusiasm and energy that she exudes, those listening to her were left in no doubt that she will be up to any challenge.

Before winding down for the summer break, the club is currently preparing for the Annual Exhibition on Friday and Saturday.

Once again this will take place in Holy Trinity Church, The Diamond, Ballycastle. The Exhibition is open from 10am to 6pm daily and admission is free. This is the fifth Annual Exhibition staged by the club, and members look forward to welcoming the usual large number of visitors.

On the theme of churches, the club recently held a workshop on architectural photography at St Patrick’s and St Brigid’s Church, Ballycastle.

This impressive building presented lots of opportunities for both indoor and outdoor photography. The workshop was led by club member, Alan Thompson. The club wishes to express its thanks to Parish Priest, Fr Brian Daly, for his hospitality.

The committee is currently working hard, setting in place the programme for 2011/2012.

Club events take place at the Gateway Club Premises, Unit 7, Moyle Enterprise Park, Leyland Road, Ballycastle and a Registration Event will take place on Tues 6th September at 7.30pm. New members are always welcome.
