Using equipment provided by the Roads Service, Environmental Health Officers will check the amount of pollution contained within cars’ exhaust fumes. If the emissions are found to be too high, motorists will be advised to have their vehicle serviced.
Staff from Magowan Tyres and Bailies Autos will also be carrying out tyre safety checks and headlamp beam assessments for those in attendance.
Mrs Pat Martin, Chair of the Road Safety Council for Northern Ireland believes that the scheme will be beneficial.
