It's ski heaven for DH Christie

Forty-five children from 45 DH Christie Primary School in Coleraine have enjoyed a ski trip to Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

The pupils were accompanied on their trip by Mrs Barnes, Mrs McNally, Miss Glass and Mrs Stewart. As usual Mrs Keys led the trip, assisted by Mrs Kirkpatrick and Mr McCarter.

This year Christie met up with Sally McMullan who was a great help and friend to everyone.

On the flight they met the Smyth family from Australia. The two daughters, called Sophia and Farah, became good friends and participated in all the activities.

The week-long excursion was organised by Travel Solutions and the Christie party stayed at the Snezhanka Hotel.

This year the school had five instructors: Mario, Trayan, Nikki, Marco and Ivan who were very friendly and excellent teachers.

And after dinner each night the party enjoyed evening activities including bowling, bum boarding and a disco.

On the night before saying goodbye to Bulgaria a presentation evening was held where the young skiers received their certificates, the instructors a were given gifts and everyone enjoyed a disco.

Cora McEwan, Emma Clarke, Ellie Buchanan, James Neil and Dylan Laverty, who contributed this report, said: “We would all like to say a very big thank-you to ‘Travel Solutions’, all the teachers, and especially to Mrs Keys and Mrs Kirkpatrick, who worked hard to organise such a fantastic holiday.

“We would all highly recommend this trip.”
