The Indians set to invade Tullyglass

THE Indians are still going strong forty years after making their debut on the Irish entertainment scene.

The exciting, colourful and hugely talented band is something of an institution in show business circles and they can expect a warm welcome when they make a welcome return visit to the Tullyglass House Hotel, Ballymena on Saturday night.

Lately, the Indians have added another string to their bow by performing at a number of major country festivals both here and in England.

Their programme is totally geared for country dancing and manager Eamon Keane suggests that the band will be around for some time to come.

“We are all as enthusiastic as we were when we first started out. Maybe the entertainment scene has changed but our commitment and dedication remain the same as they always were,” insists Eamon.

The band recently marked their 40 years on the road with a series of shows which featured the five singers who have held the mantle of ‘Big Chief’ since the outfit first went on the road.

“The reaction to those shows was just unbelievable and proved to us that we are still very much part of the fabric of the country music scene,” says Eamon.

“One of the things that has always impressed me since we first started out has been the loyalty of our followers. They will be out in force on Saturday night at the Tullyglass House Hotel and we are very much looking forward to the occasion.”
