Come and try Haggis Pie

Following the success of last year's week long celebration of Robert Burns, the Ulster-Scots Agency will tour the Burns celebratory event around Ulster, including a visit to The Ullans Centre, Victoria Street, Ballymoney on Wednesday 26th January.

Members of the public are invited to join the Agency in celebrating the life, works and spirit of the great Scottish poet between 12.30pm and 1.30pm on this date and along with a cultural extravaganza including Burns poetry, Ulster-Scots music and dance, the Agency will be providing their own twist on the haggis, neeps and tatties experience.

Entertainment on the day will include: Burns poetry recital by Liam Logan, Ulster-Scots music by Keith Lyttle, Iain Carlisle and Matthew Warwick, Piping display by Alan McCormick and Ulster-Scots dance display by Kerry Jordan

Guests will also be treated to a light lunch of one of the Agency's unique Haggis pies. Tea and coffee, homemade short bread and whiskey fudge will also be available.

Gary Blair, Development Officer for the North East said: "I am delighted that the Ullans Centre has agreed to host this event as we celebrate the life and work of Robbie Burns who, perhaps more than anyone, influenced the early and current writers in Ulster Scots. I trust that everyone who is available and has an interest in their language will call in and enjoy the event".

Admission is free to this event and everyone is welcome.
