Ballycastle is going ‘crazy’ for new mini golf at seafront

Ballycastle seafront is to be enhanced with a brand new 18 hole crazy golf course.

Approval for the scheme was given at Monday night’s meeting of Moyle District Council.

A company called Hawthorn Heights was awarded the tender to design, supply and install the crazy golf course.

Work on the project will begin in September and will take approximately six weeks to complete.

Cllr Paudie McShane welcomed a further addition to the seafront attractions.

“It is all coming together well but we shouldn’t take our foot off the gas. Let’s keep looking for other projects,” he said.

Cllr Joan Baird welcomed the project but called for caution regarding the nesting facilities for birds in the area.

Aidan McPeake from Council’s Environmental Services department said that all such issues will be taken into account.
