Rosa brings Spain to Ballycastle school

As part of St Patrick's and St Brigid's Primary School's work as an International Schools Award holder, Mrs Rosa Maria Martinez Figeuroa came to join the Ballycastle school for two weeks to add a European dimension to the students' learning and also learn from the expertise of staff in the school which was judged in its most recent inspection to range from Very Good to Outstanding.

Mrs Rosa got to meet with students and teachers and tell them about what school is like in Granada, Spain and how the Spanish curriculum is different to that of Northern Ireland.

During her time in Ballycastle she was able to take part in a wide range of extra-curricular activities such as the bed time reading project and sacramental preparation. As part of the schools commitment to enhancing the international perspective of its students and promoting inclusion and tolerance of other countries and cultures, students and staff from the school all benefited from having a teacher from another culture give them an insight into how other European countries structure their education systems. The staff and pupils from St Patricks and St Brigid’s Primary School would like to thank Rosa for taking the time to come to the school and for the experiences and insights she gave.
