Celebrating the art of Jack Wilkinson

A new art exhibition hosted by Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council, 'The Art of Jack Wilkinson', opens at Ballymoney Town Hall this Friday 27th May.

The exhibition celebrates one of North Antrim’s best known and most admired artists.

To mark the opening of the exhibition, there will be a special public preview evening on Thursday 26th May from 7.30pm until 9.00pm and everyone who knew Jack or enjoyed his paintings is invited to come along.

Jack Wilkinson sadly passed away last year, two months before his 100th birthday.

This exhibition is a rare opportunity to see a selection of his work on public display and will also be a tribute to this much loved and fondly remembered local man.

Included in the exhibition will be some of Jack’s earliest pieces, painted when he was in his early 20s.

His subjects include the landmarks and street scenes of Ballymoney, while his paintings of the North Antrim landscape are timeless masterpieces. The exhibition will showcase works from private and public collections and promises to be one of the most popular exhibitions of summer 2016.

“The Art of Jack Wilkinson” is on display in the Auditorium, Ballymoney Town Hall, Townhead Street, Ballymoney from 27th May until 16th June. Admission is free.

Opening hours are Monday-Thursday & Saturday 9am-5pm and Friday 9am-4.30pm.
