BALLYMONEY battler Matthew Stirling will go bumper to bumper with some of the toughest drivers in UK oval racing when Ballymena Raceway hosts the UK Masters Championship on Saturday May 11 (6:30pm start time).
Stirling will be keen to impress in the UK showdown, and has made a steady start to the 2013 season in his Oliver Transport backed 2-Litre Ford.
The support races on Saturday evening include the Stock Rods Irish Grand Prix. World Champion Chris Gordon will be hunting for more titles at his home track, but faces some stern opposition in the form of Irish Champion Stevie McNiece and other local favourites such as Victor McAfee, Mickey McCall, Carl Sloan and Steven McLane.
The home drivers will be joined on track by European Champion Chris ‘Gunner’ Lattka, who is travelling over from Scotland for the event.
Races for the Group Two Lightning Rods and Speed Stocks complete a packed schedule on Saturday evening, with the first racing getting underway in the Ballymena Showgrounds at the earlier than normal start time of 6:30pm.
