BOTH Glebe Rangers and Ballymoney United have advanced in the Steel & Sons Cup.
Glebe Rangers’ season took a turn for the better with a 2-1 Steel & Sons Cup success away to Grove United.
New signing Aaron Wilkinson scored on his debut and the other scorer was David McVicker.
Glebe are now down to play at home on Saturday September 14 against Drumaness Mills in the Third Round but with Ballymoney also being drawn at home that weekend it is likely one may switch.
In the Northern Ireland League Cup Glebe lost 2-0 away to Institute last week losing to two first half goals.
In the league this Saturday Glebe are at home to Tobermore (3pm) and Ballymoney are away to Lurgan Celtic.
Ballymoney knocked out Orangefield Old Boys on penalties and now entertain Derriaghy CC FC.
United have lost their striker Eoin Bradley, the Derry GAA player, after only a short time at the club where he created quite an impression and knocked in a few goals.
And his performance against Ballymena United in the League Cup caught the attention of Coleraine boss Oran Kearney.
Said the 28-year-old striker: “I am looking forward to playing in big games like Linfield and Ballymena having played in big games for Derry agaisnt Tyrone and Dublin sometimes with crowds of around 80,000. I feel I can do a job in the Premiership. I enjoyed last week’s outing for Ballymoney against Ballymena.”
