Six goals in local derby

BALLYMONEY UNITED RES 3 GLEBE RANGERS RES 3

SIX goals were shared between Ballymoney United Reserves and Glebe Rangers Reserves in the big local derby in the Michelin Athletic Club-sponsored Ballymena & Provincial Football League Junior Division One match.

Both sets of players can hold their heads high after this derby game which saw lots of very good football played and goals scored but the big plus was the way the players conducted themselves on the pitch.

Glebe took the lead after Gary Nicholl scored then a second goal scored by Adam McVicker saw Glebe two goals in front

Ballymoney tried hard to get the elusive goal but fell further behind after Gary Nicholl scored his second goal before half-time.

Ballymoney got back in the game when Steven Shields scored then narrowed the gap further after Neil Fleming scored.

Ballymoney continued to push forward getting back level after Jamie McCook scored then in the last remaining minutes both teams went all-out for the winner but at the end it was a point each from a pulsating game. Referee Mr. Martin Bellew.
