ARMOY Road Races have confirmed that the Ryan Farquhar KMR Kawasaki team powered by Northern Ireland Vauxhall Dealers will have two riders and five bikes competing later this month.
Roadside Garages, Vauxhall, of Coleraine, are also back on board as sponsors of the 650 Super Twin Race which takes place on Saturday 27th July.
Speaking this week, KMR Kawasaki team manager, Ryan Farquhar, announced that two racers, Jamie Hamilton and Conor Behan will be competing on five bikes.
Ryan has a personal interest in two other bikes, one for Jeremy McWilliams and the other for RJ Woolsey, both of whom have other sponsors.
Ryan Farquhar said: “I’m delighted that my team will be at the Armoy Road Races. Conor Behan will be a newcomer and I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do at Armoy. After winning at Cookstown and getting a third in Tandragee anything is possible. He had some quick laps at Cork recently but the rain came and that finished that. It was disappointing but you learn that is road racing.
“For Jamie, this is his second full season. He’s done exceptionally well with some podium wins but he’s still lots to learn. I just want to keep him between the hedges and do his best but he and all of the riders put additional pressure on themselves.
“I’m preparing a bike for RJ (Woolsey), he’s come along way and he’ll be riding in the Junior Support and Classic. Jeremy has another sponsor but it is an absolute privilege to be able to work alongside him again and that he’s happy to be riding one of my bikes.
“The Roadside Vauxhall 650 Super Twin Race at Armoy is going to be interesting as Jamie holds the lap record and I know Jeremy won’t be sitting back, but we’ll see. It is definitely going to be one of the races to watch.
“I’ve a lot on my plate with seven bikes, so I won’t be seeing too much racing and I’ve a tendency to put more pressure on myself than needed but the important thing in all of this is a safe race,” said Ryan.
