Pyper returns to the top

BROWN TROUT RESULTS

The competition at the weekend was for the Manormatics Trophy played in stableford format.

High scoring was the order of the day with the top nine players playing to their handicap or better.

William Pyper (14) made an overdue return to the winners podium with a good score of 41 points. Billy opened with 19 before playing the second nine in two over par yielding a further 22 points.

The highlight of his round was a run of eight pars in a row from the 7th. to the 14th.!

James Montgomery (17) pushed the winner all the way but had to settle for the runner/up place on countback with an opening nine of 22 points and 19 over the back nine.

Third prize went to Maurice Torrington (14). Maurice opened with 21 and added 19 for 40 points.The highlight for him was a birdie three at the 6th. hole.

Sam Reid and Tom Boyd consolidated their challenge for the player-of -the-year award both scoring 39 points.

The rearranged Captains Day will be held on Saturday 4th. August. A timesheet is in operation Tel. 703868209 and visitors are welcome.
