Matt (15) loses semi-final thriller

15-YEAR-OLD Matthew Wylie, the youngest player in this year’s Nevin Cup, has fallen at the semi-final stage.

He lost out in the final frame of seven to Dean McCahon but for someone so young it was a great feat to get to the semis of the big snooker competition.

The second semi is due to get under way tonight (Tuesday) and it is an all-Dervock affair between James Walker and Thomas Morrow.

Whilst Walker has already beaten his opponent in their last encounter in the league this one is over a longer distance and it is very hard to call who will book their place in the final.

* Meanwhile, entries are still being taken for the Marcus Dickson Memorial Cup with the closing date set for Monday January 28.

The competition will be played at host club, Rafters in Ballymoney.
