THE annual Portrush hockey tournament at Quay Road Playing Fields in Ballycastle attracted teams from all over Northern Ireland.

Organiser, David Price, was delighted with the turn out which earns the Portrush club a modest return on their initiative, but, more importantly, provides the local players with a relaxing end to the season.

The teams were made up of both male and female which added to the interest and there were some excellent games played throughout the day.

Teams from Belfast, Londonderry, Limavady, Ballymena and Coleraine took part and, in the end, it was a team from Ballymena who triumphed over local side, Fairheaders.

The Portrush club are grateful to the Central Bar in Ballycastle not only for accommodating the players with a reduced meal price, but also for sponsorship for the tournament.
