Olympic in 6-2 win

Ballymoney Olympic 6 Portstewart Olympic 2

Ballymoney opened the scoring after twenty mins, Gareth Clyde scoring with a strike from the edge of the eighteen.

They increased their lead five minutes later when the impressive Adam McVicker chipped the Ports keeper from outside the box.

This was soon three when Andy Shepard scored with a rasping volley from twenty yards.

The young Ports team although struggling against the strong breeze never gave up and were rewarded with a penalty just before the break and although the Olympic keeper, the evergreen Philip Hamilton, made a fine save the Ports number eleven scored from the rebound.

Olympic increased their lead on fifty mins when Andy Shepherd scored from a good through ball from Pete Boyd.

The young Ports bounced back converting another penalty awarded for handball.

This spurred Olympic when Adam McVcker scored a fine goal playing a one two with Shepard before confidently slotting home. The hard working Micky Nicholl completed the scoring with a very well taken solo effort.
