Veteran Orr back in winning groove

The week-end competition was called off because of the heavy rain on the Sunday with most of the greens waterlogged.

The previous week-end’s competition was for the O’Neil cup played in medal format.

One of the senior members of the club Robert Orr (11) returned to winning ways after a long lean period ! Robert opened with bogey and double bogey at the opening two holes but with the help of a birdie at the sixth hole managed a front nine net 35 before covering the back nine in three over par 38 for net 32 for a winning score of net 67.

Tommy McGowan (10) also finished with a net 67 losing out after the tiebreak. Tommy opened with a great level par gross for net 30 before adding a second nine of 42 net 37.

In third place Colin McConaghie (18) opened with 42 blows and added a back nine in 44 shots for a gross 86 less 18 for a net 68.

Malachy Laverty and Joe Logue shared the twos kitty !
