The Route Hunt branch of the Pony Clubs mounted Games Team has once again enjoyed a very successful season.

In May the team members, Aiofe Carr, Niamh Carr, Sam Woodrow, Henry Woodrow and Toni McClenaghan on their ponies William, Henry, Silky, Spot and Blue Jeans competed at Balmoral finishing in second place before travelling to Necarn for the Area Competition where they competed against five other teams finishing in first place.

Following this success they travelled to Scotland in July to compete in the Northern Zone competition at Kirkton Farm, Doune finishing with 29 points in fourth place and qualifying for the Championships.

August saw the team at Cholmondeley Castle, Cheshire for the Equi-Trek Mounted Games Championships where the team competed at a National level against twenty four others from across the UK.

Against very stiff competition the Route Hunt Team came in a very respectable eleventh place. Following what has been an amazing season for each of the team members their success was acknowledged at the Coleraine Sports Council Sports Awards held at the Lodge Hotel, where the team was awarded with second place in the Junior Team category and Sam Woodrow, who also represented N Ireland at Windsor, presented with second place in the Junior Sportsman award.
