Portrush hit Ballymena for six

Portrush 6 Ballymena 0

After a very positive pre-season, Portrush got their season underway with a magnificent cup win against local rivals Ballymena.

Portrush got off to a slow start and Ballymena had a couple of opportunities but could not make the most of them and this came back to haunt them when Portrush’s James McCook pounced to put the Ports 1-0 up.

This goal seemed to give Portrush the confidence they needed and they didn’t look back. James McCook capped off a man of the match performance with two more goals and the match ball to make the score 3-0.

Portrush controlled the match in the second half with three more goals from John Dillon and Callum McKeeman then Greame Kerr finished off the scoring to clinch a super 6-0 win.
