DROMORE II 0

BALLYMONEY III 1

Ballymoney III travelled to Dromore in the hopes of three points and a strong league win on Saturday 22nd November.

Ballymoney, from the beginning, had many chances with lots of communication and accurate passes.

The girls put pressure on from the first whistle and were unlucky to convert a few early shots.

With great movement up the right hand side from Sarah Holden, Sara Carr and Amy McCaw, Ballymoney kept steady pressure, and won a number of penalty corners but were unlucky to convert.

Dromore kept the Toon girls on there toes and were quick on the break, however the defensive line of Emma Creelman, Judith Mc Cracken,Maria Doherty and Ciara McGuigan held strong.

After a hardy team talk at half time, Ballymoney went out with the intention of coming away with goals.

Most of the second half was played in Dromore’s half, with Ballymoney increasing the pressure.

With the interlinking play from Lauren Henry and Clara the girls won another penalty corner late in the second half.

A hard strike from Maria Doherty at the top of the D set Ciara McGuigan up to slot the ball into the back of the net.

The girls held to final whistle, keeping a clean sheet and going home with a well deserved victory!

Thanks to Rob Harris for umpiring!
