Interclub racing is something that top riders use to prepare themselves for the highly competitive weekend events and last week Steven McAllister was in action at Bann Wheelers road race round the Drumeil circuit and in Dunloy on the Anticur course, winning both from the rest of the field, beating club rider B Kane to 2nd and top Bann Wheelers rider Nigel Quigley into 3rd place, Quigley who is a top vet can mix it with the best and was also with McAllister in the break at the Foyle GP. Nigel got 6th.
Ballymoney Cycling Club have a policy of “Fair Reporting” and will always cover the results of any rider who take part in any of their events. Thursday evening was the Dunloy Interclub road race and McAllister and 14 year old Robbie Doherty were 1st and 4th at the finish of what becoming very competitive and worthwhile races. The Dunloy club make the big effort to ensure the racing is fair and along with a friendly atmosphere north Antrim cycling is going in the right direction.
