EOIN Sayers was ecstatic at Gracehill Golf Club when he came out on top with 43 points.

* Saturday March 2 - In Division One you needed a great score just to be in contention and Eoin Sayers playing off 14 just came out on top with 43pts. With a couple of hiccups here and there the rest was plain sailing for Eoin. His solid finish, the key to which was a birdie 4 at the 15th meant Cecil Linton who also had 43pts had to settle for 2nd.

Cecil also playing off 14 did the majority of his good work on the front 9 accumulating 8 pars, but his back 9 wasn’t to shabby either as he was 2 under his card. James McClenaghan playing off 10 was 3rd with 42pts.

In Division Two Drew Cochrane playing off 25 was victorious with 42pts. After a wonderful front 9 of 23pts, Drew managed 19pts on the back with a decisive birdie 2 at the 16th.

In 2nd place playing off 16 was Niall Gillan with 41pts. In his first competition of the year Niall showed that there was no rust where his game was concerned and birdies at the 6th and 15th demonstrated this. John Sayers was 3rd with 37pts. Robert McNeill made a welcome return collecting the gross with a 75.

* Sunday Sweep - Sunday March 3 - Morris Peden playing off 12 was triumphant on Sunday with 41pts. After a poor start Morris bounced straight back with a birdie at the 2nd and made the turn with 19pts.

However, better was to come and his 22pts on the back proved vital as he just beat Sean Dobbin on countback. Sean also playing off 12 had 41pts and even his 6 straight pars to finish just weren’t enough to seize victory from Morris.

Aaron Bell (7) was 3rd with 40pts. Robert McNeill once again collected the gross with an excellent 72.

* Sunday Sweep - Sunday 24th February - Neilly Greer playing off 11 does it again! Is there no stopping this man? With a scintillating 42pts Neilly showed that he continues to know where the winning line is. Testament of this was shown as he playing the last 4 holes in 2 under. A point further back in 2nd spot was Randal McDonnell playing off 6. Randal played some near flawless golf, finishing as he did, only 1 over par - even the inadequacies of his playing partners wasn’t enough to put him off! Herbie McCook (10) was 3rd with 38pts. Richard ’Woosie’ Stinson collected the gross with a 78.

* Tee-rific Trevor - Saturday February 23 - In Division 1 Trevor Milliken playing off 7 showed the rest of the field a clean pair of heels with 41pts. Control, calmness and composure were all adjectives to describe Trevor as he went about his business with a modicum of ease, even a few dropped shots wasn’t enough to ruffle his plumage. Well, playing the last 10 holes in 1 under has this effect!

Neil Bennett playing off 11 was 2nd with 40pts. Neil played some excellent golf and if it wasn’t for a momentary lapse over the last few holes he could of accrued a few more points. Alistair Bustard (9) was 3rd with 38pts.

In division 2 Ben Cave playing off 24 dominated proceedings with 45pts. With pars at over 50% of his holes Ben showed that if he can improve his consistence the sky is the limit.

Lee Munnis playing off 18 produced another podium performance collecting 2nd with 42pts. After making the turn with 22pts Lee continued his fastidious approach to accumulate a further 20pts on the back. Michael Connor (25) was 3rd with 41pts. Randal McDonnell secured the gross with a 79.
