Dreams of a Commonwealth Games medal for Ballymoney bowler Donna McCloy have been dashed after the Northern Ireland ladies fours team failed to quality from their section.
The lawn bowls fours team won two games and lost two in Section B.
Despite suffering 18 - 4 and 15 - 11 defeats to Fiji and Malaysia respectively, the ladies team enjoyed wins over Nieu Island whom they beat 31 - 9 and India whom they defeated 13 - 12.
However, only the top two teams from each section moved on to the next round.
The rink was made up of Donna McCloy, Barbara Cameron, Mandy Cunningham and Jenny Dowds.
Donna, who took up bowls at the age of eleven after being introduced to the sport by her grandparents, was competing in her fifth Commonwealth Games.
