An 18 hole Sweep was held recently resulting in a win for Tom Boyd (10) with a good score of 42 points.
Tom opened with a level par first nine which included seven pars and a birdie three cancelling out a dropped shot at the fifth to amass 22 points then added 19 over the second nine despite failing to score at the 11th. hole.
Sam Reid (15) and club President Joe Logue (16) both had 40 point returns with Sam taking runner/up prize with a better back nine of 22 which included a birdie three at the 16th. against Joes 19 which was good enough for third prize.
There was a plethora of twos paying out a low dividend ! shared by Alan Smyton (2) Robert Orr (2) Trevor Cupples and Colin McConaghie. Next weekend sees the first of the Summer Cups with the McBride cup up for grabs, members are reminded that all cards taken out must be returned to the computer to give the correct variable standard scratch. (failure to comply may result in being barred from next comp.)
