The mid week focus was on the Ballymoney Long Mountain Classic held on the Tullaghans circuit. This event attracts riders from other clubs who travel to take part in what is described as a real beefy challenge. Featuring the now infamous muscle roasting drag from the Finvoy road to the St Mary’s school cross and over the Tullaghans top to the finish. Taking in the Leck and the twisty fast descent to the Finvoy road. Over 6 miles of good roads for racing on.

The early chasing was done by the BCC youth team Finn Sands Robinson, Kevin McCambridge, Shay Donley along with Robbie Doherty and Flannagan. At the weekend Robbie was 11th in the A race at Cranford in Donegal as he is in the sights of the Ulster selectors as they finalise their choices for the Junior Tour of Ireland team. Under15 rider Kevin McCambridge won the Glens CC 10 mile TT on Thursday night in 23:31.

BCC were in international action with M40 racer Alastair Henry getting 7th at the Nicosia Criterium in Cyprus

The race was split into 4 groups with the race winner Thompson in the back group it was full gas for 4 laps until everyone came together and then it was all out attacks to the finish with Thompson first from Dunloy’s Philip McGuigan, just back from injury and the Under16 Ballymoney CC lad Breandan Flannagan. The BCC Youth race was won by U13 rider Rowan Montgomery from Andrew Gordon Carn Whs and Coleraine rider Jordan Campbell in 3rd
