Martin Morgan was the man to beat in the Open Midweek Stableford held on 23 September. Playing off 14, Martin’s 41 points was made up of 20 points on the front nine and 21 on the back whilst runner up Derek Bell who also finished on 41 points did it the other way about thus enabling Martin to claim the spoils on the back nine.

Liam Mc Lean and his 40 points total came out on top of a three way tie for third spot with a better back nine from Vincent Gallagher and Peter Donnelly. Saturday’s Ladies & Gents Open Stableford was in aid of the Good Morning Ballycastle charity. The competition was a very high scoring event with David Bell topping the list with a magnificent 47 points. Helped by consecutive birdies at the 5th and 6th Dennis Allen produced a fine round of 73 gross which gave him 45 points. Any other time that would probably have been more than enough to claim the spoils but given the form of the winner Dennis had to settle for the Division 1 section prize on this occasion. Playing off 14 Sean Brogan also returned a score in the forties with his 43 points being sufficient to claim the Division 2 section by 2 points. He was pushed all the way by Daniel Barnes with 46 points giving him the Division 3 section by a margin of 7 points. The Sunday Stableford resulted in a 3 way tie between Damian Mc Sorley; Liam Mc Gonigle & Philip Michael. All players finished on 40 points with Philip the winner on countback.
