Good Morning Ballycastle/Moyle to stage charity golf event

Good Morning Ballycastle/Moyle is holding a charity golf day on Sunday 26th August at Ballycastle Golf Club.

The Good Morning Ballycastle/Moyle service is under severe threat at present due to lack of funding and this will be a very valuable opportunity to raise much needed monies.

This is one of six charity days that the Golf Club offer. The event is open to ladies and gents.

Good morning Ballycastle provides a much needed ‘friend on the phone’ service for vulnerable, lonely and elderly people living in the local council area and beyond including Rathlin Island.

The service offers a free daily morning telephone call from Monday to Friday to check on the person’s well being, and to offer friendly help and advice, with referral to other services if necessary.

At present trained volunteers deliver this very confidential service to many people in this area. Trusting relationships have been built between the volunteers and the people called. People now talk more openly about matters that are important to them. These can be very private or simple and practical.

Much appreciation has been shown by families as they have peace of mind knowing that volunteers contact their loved ones regularly.

The Good Morning office also offers benefit checks for people over 60 yrs via a2b. Entitlements can be checked and people can be signposted to the appropriate authority to get help if required.

This is a one to one appointment system and like all work is confidential. If you want to avail of any of these services please contact the co-ordinator, Kate Elliott at the Good Morning Ballycastle by ringing 02820768309 or call in at the office at 60 Ann Street Ballycastle BT54 6HL.

All entries for the golf competition are welcome, and to book a time slot please contact Ballycastle golf club at 02820762536 or 02820762506 or visit the club web site at www.ballycastlegolfclub.com

Donations towards this charity can be made at the golf club on the day of the competition or at the Good Morning office 60 Ann St. Ballycastle between 9am and 1pm Monday to Friday

Good Morning Ballycastle would like to thank Ballycastle golf Club for its generosity.
