Glebe Rangers have confirmed the appointment of Jason Wilmont as their new manager.

Wilmont takes over from Peter Cairns, who resigned earlier this week.

A spokesperson for the club thanked Cairns and his backroom team for all their hard work and said the club were looking forward to working with Wilmont.

“We would like to thank Peter, Robert McCaw and Carson Shaw for all they did for the club during their time in charge,” said the spokesperson.

“We decided the best way for us to move forward was to appoint in-house. Jason has been about the club for years, he knows what the club is all about. He has played the game at a high level and we believe he will help the club move forward.”

Wilmont will be assisted by Ian Bellingham, Johnny Hume and Ricky Nicholl.
