There was disappointment for Rangers at Scroggy Road. They drew 2-2 with Plymouth Argyle.
Jack Byland’s return to the tournament, exactly one year after he broke his leg on the opening day, continued to go to plan. The Southampton goalkeeper kept a clean sheet as the Saints beat Glaswegians Partick Thistle 1-0 in Limavady. Sheffield United recorded their second win of the tournament, beating Donegal 5-2 in Portstewart.
