Dunloy then took the lead on the 65th minute with a goal scored by John John McFerran but Newtowne got back level after Darren Henderson scored on the 71st minute.

DESERTMARTIN 5 v 1 CLOUGH RANGERS ATHLETIC

Both teams kept it tight for the first half-hour then a two goal burst by Desertmartin with goals scored by Andy Kelso and Mark Shiels on the 30th and 35th minutes saw then two up at half-time. Desertmartin increased their lead when Chris Kerr on the 60th minute but a goal from David Nicholl on the 80th minute gave Clough a chance of saving the game.

Desertmartin had other ideas and a brace of goals from Mark Shiels to complete his hat-trick on the 85th and 90th minutes killed off Clough hopes.

This was win number three on the trot for the Moon but a bit of a disappointment for Ballymoney who had to take it on the chin.
