Glebe Rangerscelebrating25 years

GLEBE Rangers are to celebrate its 25th anniversary with a family fun day and series of exhibition matches next month.

The Ballymoney outfit will host the event at the Joey Dunlop Centre from 2pm on Saturday, April 26.

A number of friendly matches featuring former players and managers will take place from around 3pm.

The club is also organising a fun day for families connected to the club with facepainting a dbouncy castle and other attractions.

Vice Chairman, Alistair Steele, told Times Sport: ““We have been trying to contact as many people as possible through Facebook and have also been looking through old scrapbooks to see who we can invite.

“Basically we want anyone connected with the club, former players, managers and committee members to come along and enjoy the day.”

Glebe Rangers was formed in 1989 and initially played in the Ballymena Intermediate League under their first manager, Robert Rainey.

Alastair said: “Robert will be coming along on the day and we’d hope to get most of those who managed the club too.”

After the matches a memoranilia event will be held at the Manor Hotel in Ballymoney.

A buffet and some speeches will be held as well as music into the evening.

Anyone whos has any old memorabilia or photographs to contribute is asked to contact any of the club’s committee.
