Dunloy are knocked out of ‘Crawford’

YORK ROAD LOUGHSIDE ‘A’ 2 DUNLOY 1

DUNLOY were knocked out at the 4th Round stage of the Crawford Cup in the Ballymena & Provincial Football League sponsored by Michelin Athletic Club.

Dunloy were missing a few regulars for this game but that does not take away from a good performance by York Road who will be hard to beat in this competition.

Both teams created a few chances in the first-half but at the break no goals had been scored. Things changed early in the second half when Mark McCann opened the scoring on the 55th minute putting York Road in front.

Dunloy had to chase the game after this and got caught when Craig Heaney headed in a second goal for York Road on the 76th minute. Dunloy never gave up the chase but the York’s held firm until Brendan McGarry scored on the 90th minute but by then it was too late to save the game.
