Oran Kearney’s delight at leading Coleraine to their first Irish Cup semi-final of his tenure was plain for all to see on Saturday evening.

The Bannsiders boss admitted he was nervous in the lead up to the match with Ballymena United.

But those nerves were quickly diminished as they put the Sky Blues to the sword to set up a last-four showdown with holders Glenavon.

“We are delighted to be in the semi-final,” he told Times Sport.

“You know when you get to a semi-final it’s not going to be an easy game, and this certainly won’t be any different.

“Glenavon have had the best cup pedigree in the country over the last couple of years, so we know it will be a massive day. But we know we will have a job to do on the day.

“We had a great crowd here today and I hope they liked what they saw.

“Hopefully now we can keep this going and harness the excitement over the next few weeks and get everyone in behind us. This is the business end of the season, and the important stage of the season to be peaking at.”
