Alison Nicholl’s side won the trophy last year defeating Carmoney Ladies 3-2 in the final at Dixon Park last September.

This year they will have to overcome the challenge of Enniskillen to bring the trophy back to The Showgrounds once again.

“Any cup final is special, no matter how many you win and/or how often,” defender Roisin Brown told Times Sport.

“The excitement is just as great this time round.

“Last season we were able to bring silverware to Coleraine FC for the first time in a long time and to repeat that would be very special indeed.

“However, we are looking forwards rather than behind us.

“We enjoyed winning last year but we are completely focused on the game on Thursday.

“We have worked very hard this season to secure another League Cup Final and are delighted to have done so.

“Our opponents, Enniskillen, are tough - a big strong side.

“We narrowly beat them in a league fixture at their ground in Enniskillen last week, but that will mean nothing in the final.

“We will be taking all the energy from our excitement and putting it into preparing as best we can.

“Enniskillen have had a good season, sitting third in the league table behind us.

“They are a big strong side and are good in the air.

“I think the battle will be in the middle of the park so whoever can challenge and compete for the ball in there will be key to the game.

“We don’t fear them - we have played good football all season and deserve to be in the final.

“We will be looking forward to letting that do the talking on the pitch for us.”

The Ladies have had an impressive season.

As well as reacging the League Cup final their win over Enniskillen last week also secured second place in the league and a play-off for promotion into the Championship.

“We have had a good season.

Last year we won the league cup but were disappointed to miss out on a play-off spot for promotion.

“This year we have done that. The opposition is likely to be St Matthews and that will be a further home and away tie.

“To get this far is an accomplishment but the win and promotion would be the icing on the cake.

“The Championship is a challenging league and certainly a step up but I think we are capable of competing at that level.”
