BUYA U13’s v Coleraine

Won 2.1 (Munnis&McMaster)

After defeat last week Ballymoney made a few tactical changes with Jonny Boggs moving into central midfield and Adam Beckett partnering Corey McVicker in central defence.  This proved to be profitable from the outset with Boggs and White dominating and bossing the midfield.

After some near misses Ballymoney took a deserved lead when Josey Steele picked the ball up on the left and fired the ball into Ryan Brolly who brilliantly laid the ball first time into the path of Callum Munnis who delightfully lifted the ball over the keeper into the top corner of the net.

Ballymoney continued to dominate the rest of the half and were unlucky to only be a goal ahead at half time.

Coleraine came out all guns blazing and put Ballymoney under a lot of pressure which paid off when they were awarded a penalty after Maddin was adjudged to have handled on the goal line.

Although Gillen in the Ballymoney goal guessed the right way and got a good hand to it there was just to much power on the penalty 1-1.

This then kicked Ballymoney into gear and they went ahead again when Brolly got to the by-line and cut the ball back to Leon McMaster who kept a cool head and slotted it in the corner.  Ballymoney dominated the rest of the game and held out for a deserved victory and much improved performance.
