Kaia Moore, Emily Reid, Emily O’Neill and Keri Halliday have been training with the NI squad since January.

The girls have worked tirelessly with the NI setup travelling to Ulster University, Jordanstown once a week and twice a week throughout the summer months.

Emily O’Neill has been receiving specialist goal keeping training with the NI coaches and during the summer travelled to Dublin to take part in a FAI Goalkeeping summer camp.

Last week, Kaia, Emily and Keri took part in a ‘Soccer Genius’ session, a fitness testing session involving tests such as shot velocity and dribbling and passing accuracy. Kaia ranked 4th in NI for her age group (2004) and Keri and Emily ranked in 2nd and 6th in NI in their 2005 age group. Excellent results for the girls and a testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment they put into their football.

Ballymoney United Youth Academy U11 Girls celebrated last week with a 5-2 win over Glebeside at the Friendship League. Goals scored by Emily Reid (X3), Layla O’ Hara and Eimear Johnston helped the girls put points on the table. This week is another busy week for the girls as the U11s take on Rasharkin in Friday nights friendship league fixture at 5:45pm.

On Saturday the U8s will participate in the Harry Gregg Foundation Small Sided Games centre for the first time, tbc. Sunday sees the U13s, U11s and U9s entering Roe Valley Girls’ Tournament in Derry, where they will be hoping for another trophy to add to their collection.
