Armoy RFC Wasps successfully launched at fun day in Lime Park

Armoy RFC launched their mini rugby section Armoy RFC Wasps”at a fun day which was held at Lime Park on Sunday 19th July.

With the wee club is now 40 years old a mini section was long overdue in order to nurture any young talent in the area and to secure the clubs next 40 years. Armoy Wasps is open to boys and girls from ages 5 - 11 who would like to come along on Saturday mornings and learn the FUNdamentals of rugby with the emphasis being on the FUN part.

The fun day itself consisted of some small sided games of tag rugby and a few skills drills, there was also bouncy castles a BBQ and Harry’s Ice cream van was there to provide some much needed thirst aid. All who attended had a great day.

Coaching starts on Saturday 01st August at 10am to 11am and on the first week we will be assisted by Ulster Rugby community officer Shaun Bloomfield. As a result from the fun day there are now 50 children registered to play, it is not too late to join, just come along on Saturday mornings and your child will be more than welcome, registration costs £10 which includes a pair of Armoy Wasps rugby socks, sessions are then charged at £2 per week per child.
