THE Armoy Road Races in association with Coleraine Skip Hire & Recycling is fast approaching and everyone is gearing up for another week of free family entertainment and activities in Armoy.

Once again this year promises to be an exciting one.

The Armoy club has spent the last year updating and improving the course, including a upgraded start and finish area, more safety fencing, time keepers hut and week long race festivities giving visitors and spectators even more value for money.

This year will also welcome the addition of a Race Week Festival, which is organised by the ARMCC in association with Moyle District Council and will feature a host of events ideal for all age groups beginning on Sunday 24 July with the annual Ride Out and Club Service.

This year’s practice session takes place on Friday 29 July with the action packed 10 races taking place on Saturday 30 July.

Clerk of the Course Bill Kennedy said: “We are delighted to announce the additions to the Armoy races this year and are overwhelmed with the vast interest in top quality riders meaning I can guarantee a few surprises on the grid this year.

“We a delighted that our main sponsor Coleraine Skip Hire is backing us for another year and are grateful for their continued support, hard work and dedication to the Armoy races.

“I am also delighted to confirm that William Dunlop will be riding in the 125 and 250 races which after his wins at Tandragee this year certainly gives other riders something to step up to.

“Thanks also to all of our race sponsors which at this stage have all been confirmed and I look forward to welcoming them all to our official launch in Portballintrae on Wednesday 29 June 2011.”
