Riada jumpers strike more gold!

THE Riada Trampoline Club from Ballymoney were reeling in the medals at the National finals in Dublin at the weekend.
The club, which draws many of its members from the Coleriane area, has been reaping the rewards for hours of training and effort. They had to qualify for the Nationals with a set score over four regionals, held throughout Ireland during the year. A s
trong team of 18 performers qualified successfully and the outstanding displays of nerves and execution won Riada five National Titles.

In the intermediate group, Kerry Hemphill won through to become National Champion in the 11-12 year old girls section. Kathryn Reid won the National Championship for 13-14 girls and Debra Morrison won the National Championships for age 15-16 girls.

In the same group Jack Quinn won bronze for 11-12 Boys and Lauren Archibald won the 13-14 girls Bronze.

In the team competition Kerry Hemphill, Lauren Archibald, Kathryn Reid and Daniel Cathcart came first and second place went to the other Riada team of Yvette Patton, Nicole Quinn, Debra Morrison and Fionnula Mooney.

In the advanced group Aidan Carlin won the National Championship for 13-14 Boys. In the team competition Aaron Patton, Aidan Carlin, Kerry Kirkpatrick and Alice Poots took first place and second went to Hannah Esler, Danielle Dunne and Ruth Armstrong.

In the National group Caite Skelly won the 11-12 Girls championship and Kelly Skinner took Bronze in the 15-16 Girls. At the same level the Riada team of Kelly , Caite and Laura Porter came second.

In the novice class the team of Bronagh Scullion, Cherie Tinsley, Aideen McGarry and Caoimhe Brinkley came first.

Head Coach Karen Graham said: “Following this fabulous achievement for the Riada Club, showing the strength of skill at all levels and age groups the team now prepare for the Irish Grand Prix which will be held in LImerick on May 17-18.”

The team is sponsored by Ian Johnston Consulting, Consultancy and Training Services, of Newtownabbey, who kindly backed the team kits. The Riada team got the support of to a great start off with fabulous results at the Nationals.
