MOSSIDE had their keeper, Brian Kane, to thank as he rescued his side from losing all three points at Kilbride Swifts on Saturday.
With their hosts pressing for a winner, it was the former Glebe and Ballymoney United stopper who shone, pulling off a great save at the death to spare his side's blushes.
In the end it was just two points dropped but Robert Nicholl's fantastic si
de are still on top of the table, with a handful of games remaining.
Most signifcantly, as well as this weekend's potential banana skini at, Mosside must go to Doagh to meet Ballynure Old Boys in what promises to be a title-decider.
Having beaten them convincingly at home at Easter, that game shouldn't hold fear for this Mosside team, who have been the best eleven in the league this season.
On Saturday, both teams went for the win from the start in this game and it was Mosside who struck first with Stephen McCrory scoring in the forth minute.
Chances came and went after this then in the 36th minute Kilbride got the equaliser after Paul Storey scored a screamer putting the teams level at half-time.
Kilbride then took the lead in the 49th minute when James Andrews headed in from a corner with this goal separating the teams until Harry Love scored for Mosside in the 76th minute.
Both teams then went for the winning goal and but for a stunning save by Brian Kane to deny Storey a second goal, Kilbride may have snatched the points.
In midweek, Mosside were in majestic form once more as they beat Clough Rangers Athletic 9-0 away from home.
