New Years Day was a cold morning but the low temperatures meant the sand was quite firm and given that not all NI events elected to have a New Years Day parkrun, there were quite a few visitors.

Of the 111 runners, 24 were first timers and 18 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 8 different athletics clubs took part.

Special mentions must go to Steven McAlary who clocked a cracking PB of 17:20 on New Years Day and is showing great form at the moment. Claire Crawford also nabbed a PB and for the second consecutive week, the fabulous Karen McLaughlin tore the field apart to come home first Lady in another excellent time of 21:18.

Colin Moore and Jonno Johnson were congratulated on being the latest Portrush runners to reach 50 parkruns. New Years Day is the only day runners are allowed to complete two parkruns on the same day so David Patterson took advantage of this by completing Comber in 27.06, then Stormont in 27.28.
